I have landed in a whole new decade. So far, so good. My birthday was quiet this year and so unlike last year. Thank God. We didn't have a chance to go anywhere to celebrate because my husband is working split shifts again, but it was still nice.
My husband purchased a lovely cake from my favorite bakery as well as a dozen red roses. He also gave me a lovely necklace that was just for fun. And, even though in some circles I now qualify as "old", he gave me a gift that pushed my current cool points up a little.
This teeny tiny little beauty will clip right onto my clothes when I run--no worries about needing a pocket in my tech shirt or a zippered pocket in my jacket or pants. I can just clip and go.
There is the Nike+ add in and all kinds of other cool goodies.
I am so far behind the times that I thought this was a fancy iPod shuffle when I saw the box. I didn't realize that the black side was actually a touch screen. I thought it was a cool design accent.
Yeah. I have issues.
As much as I love Apple and all its products, you'd think I would have paid better attention to the ever shrinking Nano. I am pretty sure mine is a 6th generation with 16 gb or something. A massive amount of storage in an insanely small package.
That rocks so hard! And, he put my name on the back of it. Also, very cool.
My husband gave me my first iPod when I was in law school. It was a first generation Nano. I still have it and use it and it works just fine.
But, it isn't that small and there is no clip.
I have to have a good sized pocket to tuck it in when I run.
It has faithfully served me for YEARS.
I will still be using it, I'm sure. I'm nostalgic like that.
Definitely neither are as cool as M1's iPod touch, but I have my Droid X for that kind of stuff and I'm good with that.
Of course, my best birthday present still remains Mr. Remington. Although he remains super skinny ( I can't believe he needs to gain 10 pounds!), he is definitely feeling better. He has a good appetite, he hasn't vomited for nearly a week and his diarrhea is long gone.
He has a follow-up with our vet tomorrow. He will have his sutures removed from his neutering surgery and will be assessed to see how his numerous medications are working.
I have some cute photos of him playing with a Kong toy, but Typepad won't upload them for some reason, so I guess it will wait for another day.
Work has been super busy this week. I just keep picking up more and more responsibilities. I love it, but I'm also tired and need to recharge soon.
I am hoping to nap a little this weekend! And, I want to finish the book I'm reading (A Murder at the Vicarage--Agatha Christie rules). If I do, I'll be ahead on my monthly goal. :)
