Good grief.
M2's bedroom is a nightmare of epic proportions. She took the initiative a weekend or two ago when Mamaw was here to "start" on purging her toy inventory. She was supposed to make a pile to keep and a pile to donate. Unfortunately, Mamaw wasn't convinced M2 knew what she was doing and the entire room has been in that state of utter disarray for days. It's horrific.
Today is the first day I've not had something going on in both the morning and afternoon. I dropped the kids, came home and forced myself to go in there (after watching my DVR'd episode of Tori & Dean).
Hoooly cats! I already have one gigantar box of toys to take to Goodwill (thinking of bagging them instead so I can keep my gigantar box) and I'm trying to figure out what to do with the rest. I'm only tackling the toys today. I will do the closet and clothes on Friday if I have time, but I'm thinking Disney Prep will take over the rest of my week.
I've kept a small contingent of fun toddler toys that I'm not ready to part with yet. Consider it insurance. Everyone I know who gets rid of all things baby usually end up needing it again anyway.
M2 had her kinderprep 'graduation' picnic last night. It was really fun. I don't usually enjoy picnics--they are outside; there are bugs; they involve plasticware. This, however, was a good time. M2's best friend's Mom thought of the idea and did a major amount of planning and prep. I brought up the rear by helping with set up and tear down and purchasing the cake.
The kids had a blast. We took tons of photos. The planning mom's older stepson created a DVD of still shots of the kids (some of whom have been together at the Center since they were infants) and we all received a copy. It was really sweet. I almost cried during it, but didn't. Then, at the end, I look over and M1 is BAWLING. So, I cried then. I couldn't stop myself. Oh, well. I'm a nerd like that.
I can't believe I have an almost kindergartner. I also can't believe that tomorrow is our last day at the Center. I've been going there almost every business day for the last seven years. Unreal. I honestly think it's harder on me than the girls. The staff and teachers looking at me with misty, wistful eyes and saying, "Please come by and visit every now and then. We'll miss you guys." Isn't THAT the truth?!
You crack me up!
AFG has the same exact feelings towards picnics. I KNEW there was a reason we think you're the Cat's Meow!

Originally, our vacation was suppose to be to Disney. If we would have stayed with that plan, we would be there at the same time.
Due to budget constraints (and Grandma guilt) we're heading to MN instead.
Hopefully, we can fulfill the Disney promise to the kids some time this winter... just waiting for a property sale.
Then, it's off to kinder for my E2 as well :( :)

MN sounds fun (and cooler?) than where we're headed!
We'll look forward to seeing vacation shots from your road trip!
And, I think the AF Family is pretty cat-terrific too!
