I absolutely love The Fabulous Beekman Boys.
I'm not even sure how I found them. I must have stumbled onto the channel one night (because, let's face it, the Green Channel isn't really my thing) and I can't stop watching. I caught it today on another Discovery channel and watched one I'd already seen twice.
Their website is amazing and I could spend hours clicking through all the products, photos, etc.
These two have been together for a long time. Brent (r) is a doctor who worked as Vice President of Healthy Living for Martha Stewart Omnimedia. Josh (l) has written a handful of books and works in New York City during the week while Brent works at the farm full-time. They bought an estate house with acreage in Sharon Springs, New York after spending weekends in upstate New York.
They have a llama, goats, and pigs. One particularly poignant episode saw the planned demise of Porky and Bess, their two huge pigs. M2 and I watched it together and it sparked some good discussions about where our bacon comes from and what good care these two took of their pigs. Tonight, we watched the episode in which the goats began having their babies. One mommy goat had trouble delivering the 2nd of her two babies and it was touch and go for a bit. We all held our breath while we waited to see if the teeny little goat would take its first one. It did and we all breathed a sigh of relief.
Love, love, LOVE this show! Definitely plan on trying some of their wares when our finances return to normal. The soaps sound divine and if I can get my hands on some of their cheese, I will be a happy girl!
