Today went by too quickly!
My parents returned the girls at 10 a.m. and were nice enough to put the glass in my storm door. That should make a difference, I'm sure. M2 and I had to rush off to her basketball clinic while M1 waited at the house for her dad to arrive. I filled the car, bought stamps and then returned to watch M2's clinic. She did well and even made a basket while they practiced.
When we came home, I tried to remain upright and finish more work. However, I knew I was crashing quickly and needed to lie down. So, I did. And, it wasn't one of those, "Oh, I think I'll lie down for a moment and rest" kind of rests. It was a crawl beneath the covers, pull them up to your neck, fall fast asleep before the covers settle and lie in the same position for an hour kind of rests. At least I didn't cough and keep myself awake! I'm probably saving that up for tonight.
I'm still reading the John Adams' biography, but I haven't had a chance to read anything in awhile. At this rate, I'll never be able to compete with my friend, Sarah, who took on the big boys (Rove and Bush) in '09 and nearly whooped them. I have a copy of Atlas Shrugged on the way plus the Benjamin Franklin bio that M1 gave me for Christmas. And, she also brought home a copy of Ethan Frome for me.
In addition to all THAT reading material, I ordered a discounted copy of The Coupon Mom's Guide to Cutting Your Grocery Bills in Half to see if she's worth her salt. I looked at her website and thought she had some decent ideas. I'm hoping the book will prove worthwhile.
I figure with adding another person to the household and having another return who eats about as much as all four of us girls combined, I'd better look into ways to plan ahead and save some cash on the things we buy the most. I'll keep you posted on what I learn and whether or not she knows what she's talking about or if she's just inventing things. I have been printing coupons off the internet, but will probably pick up a Sunday paper tomorrow and will also gladly accept any coupons anyone wants to save for me!
Tomorrow, I am hoping to wake up feeling like I've actually slept. M2 and I will go to church. Then, I'd like to work in her room. We have lots of new clothes to put away and lots of freshly laundered ones too. She also has lots of things that she can no longer wear either because of size or season. I need to be sure I leave out enough shorts and t-shirts for basketball, though! The rest goes in M3's bin. We just continue to collect odds and ends for her because we are holding out hope that she will be home before my husband is.
M2 actually said she's ready to go back to school. She says she likes being home, but she's 'ready' to go back. We'll see how long that lasts!
One more day of break. I know it will fly. Sigh.

Well, it's better than her saying emphatically that she DOES NOT want to go back. At least you have hope!

Have you read Atlas previously, or will this be your first time?

@ Wife of a Sailor--Exactly! At least she can ride the wave of a happy return for a few days until she crashes out mid-week!
@ Sarah--This will be my first time. I'm a luddite.

I finished Atlas a week ago, for the first, but not last time.
