I'm in the throes of decongestant fuzzy-headedness to be sure and so thankful I will likely NOT be called on today in Biz Orgs (where I am now). Not that I don't understand what we're doing or that I haven't read, but because I would sound like a bumbling idiot. At least I can breathe!
We have a short week thanks to the holiday and I couldn't be happier. M1 will be headed south to see her dad's family so that means organizing school photos to send along, packing appropriate clothing and ordering the flowers I send each year when she's there. My first mother-in-law LOVES fresh flowers (who doesn't?!) and because they celebrate M1's birthday while she is there, it's a nice little pop of color for the party and/or entertaining they do.
Where will everyone find themselves this holiday?
We will be having the traditional lunch time meal with my family on Thursday and then a little more casual dinner with Hubs' stepmom's side of the family on Saturday. This means seeing all the kids, including a relatively new baby girl, and my sister-in-law. I'm looking forward to all that as well as taking Henry home to meet everyone. I'm glad we're only taking him Saturday when we return to town as I'm positive he's too much of a Momma's Boy to occupy himself while visiting relatives...I can't blame anyone for not wanting a 70-pound chocolate lab in their house, but Henry will likely not understand the banishment!
Oh, and I submitted my law review article's third draft yesterday after working on it a solid five hours or so. Seriously. I should really try to break that up a bit, but I hammered it out and profusely thanked my editor for his patience as it was due Friday or Saturday, but definitely not Sunday. I now realize that when the assessment sheet said "completed argument section", it was more of an idealistic request than an abject demand. I took it for an abject demand, though, and I suppose I should be grateful as this will mean less work for me over break. I'll pretend everyone else did it too so I don't feel like such a dork.
Making and sending chocolate chip cookies is on my agenda for this weekend. I owe my cousin some cookies and my adopted soldier's b-day is coming up and I'm assuming he'd like some chocolate chip cookies while he's holding it down in the 'stan. His tour is due to end relatively soon so we may be ready to adopt another soldier in the near future!
More later. When I'm coherent. Sorry for rambling, but I know you worry if I stay away too long.
