Friday Fallout
Still grading, but I've buzzed through the blogosphere and here's what popping:
Do NOT miss the update Matt at Blackfive has posted about SGT Joey Bozik, one of our wounded warriors. If you've been following his story (and, if not, don't worry, Matt can catch you up quickly) you will more than likely want to bring along a Kleenex.
Monday, May 1st, is Illegal Alien Day. Avail yourself of the disturbing plans via Michelle Malkin's uber-comprehensive post. I'm saving my pennies so I can go out and spend, spend, spend that day. No blips for our economy that day. One of my biggest expenditures will be a donation to the Minutemen Project's fence building initiative. Every little bit helps!!! Oh, and my questions remains--as these folks so staunchly refuse to purchase anything in America on this date, will they also refuse to avail themselves of all the illegally gained handouts they take every single day of the year?
Michelle also provides a link to the Spanglish Anthem...aka the bastardization of the Star Spangled Banner. I don't think I'm alone when I say, Get your own damned song! Jesus. (That's JEE-sus, not HAY-zeus) Like free healthcare, tax-free income, free education, get-out-of-jail-free living isn't enough?! Now they want to prick with our national anthem?!?!?
Carla at SSM has posted about Freeper Envy and some memories from the Milblog Conference. I am planning to get back to DC sooner rather than later so I can pound the pavement on a Friday night. On this trip, I met up with two, dear girlfriends prior to Fran O'Brien's Friday night...so, what better reason to plan Washington, DC part deux?
Hey Melinda - -Great blog! We agree with all you said so it must be right. Ha! We have 8 children between the two of us, all raised in Arizona on a ranch so believe me - -we know all the border problems ever mentioned and then some. The state of Arizona has about been taken over by illegals. We had a horse farm in Virginia. The state of Virginia was becoming just about as bad. We sold, moved to Texas. No comment!!!! Out of the frying pan into the fire seems to be our MO. We have no men, not by choice but by fate, and on occasion we say by the grace of God. Hehehe. But we have adopted all of our Military guys and Michael Yon. Now there is an adopted kid that is impossible to keep up with! We dearly love the little fella. What you are doing with your pennies is great. We will do the same as you!!! There is so much to do, Melinda, and so few to do it. We want to encourage American women to stand up even more than they are. Maybe what we do doesn't amount to much but if everybody would do all they really could this war would be over in good time we think. Please keep up the good work and our prayers will be with you and all like you. Hope you can continue to blog. Your new friends and fellow American Women in times of war.
