What's Wrong with this Photo?
My coffee nearly did a screen shot this morning as I opened Michelle Malkin's blog for a peek at stories I might want to read more about today. She includes more photos and reaction to a student protest at Montebello High in California in which students flew the Mexican flag above an upside down American flag. Local coverage, minus the photos of course, available here. If you didn't see Michelle's post regarding "reconquista", do it today so you're fully informed on this bubbling issue of immigration reform. I hope Malkin's assessment that this will ring a death knell for sweeping amnesty plans in immigration legislation. I think it's wonderful when people take it upon themselves to seek out a better life for their families and when it occurs legally, it is a testament to how well our nation is regarded by those outside our borders. I also love when cultures come into the American gene pool and provide us with flavor, spice and renewed interest. I don't, however, like the idea of those in America not wanting to be Americans. Stunts like this and the adults standing around allowing it or encouraging it to happen help me to see what this "reform" is really all about--pandering for votes for one. Perhaps it's time that the registered, legal voters start speaking more loudly...in plain English...that this behavior will not be tolerated and our government usurping the laws of our land is not acceptable any longer.
Be sure to check all this out for yourself at Ms. Malkin's blog and those she's linked to and if you discover any interesting links in your quest to be informed, be sure to share them with me!
UPDATE: Interesting information showing up now about these protests and their origins.
Isn't reconquista the same as Zionism?
