Must Read For Today...
You must NOT miss reading this post at SGT Hook's site. Take along a Kleenex, k? Thanks to Andi for drawing this to my attention.
Abdul Rahman has apparently been released. His "vanishing" could be a good sign, however, the presence of the very family members who turned him in to the police in the first place isn't all that inspiring.
And, thus far, I haven't commented on all the hoopla over immigration issues. My feelings are simple. Once again, we are failing to enforce the laws we have and adding more legislation to attempt to cure ills that would not have become a problem should the original laws have been enforced. I found myself wondering when hundreds of thousands of people of questionable citizenship status took to the streets demanding things of this country, they were not met by law enforcement officials...those who were not official should have been unceremoniously returned from whence they came. It's horrible that those going about it legally can have YEARS spent in the process...THAT is where we should be concentrating our efforts.
Background news on the story available at: The Arizona Republic and The Los Angeles Times (notice the lack of American flags? Interesting.)
To hear others' takes on the issue, you can check out Michelle Malkin's coverage and links and she pays special attention to the flag waving mentioned above by yours truly. Neal Boortz has been writing on this topic as well. His post yesterday was quite heated, but worth a read. Bill Murchison delivers his take at Townhall.com as do Thomas Sowell and Cal Thomas.
Go forth. Read. Discuss.

Thanks for the link Melinda. Another good cry for me.
