The best money I have spent in a long time on scrapbooking was not necessarily a scrapbooking purchase at first. Maybe you own a set of these rolling drawers too? They come in several different styles and when I realized that these would easily roll inside my closet and sit underneath my blouses, I was in LOVE. Of course, if you have wee ones or spare closets, you have even MORE room to store your scrapbooking items.
One of the best part of these drawer sets is that you can select the one that best fits your needs!
More adoration after the jump!
If you don't need the deep drawer storage some of the carts offer, this model may be more your speed. I'm coveting this at the moment since it's one of the first times I've seen it on-line--Target.com has them for $29.99. You KNOW I'll be keeping an eye out for when this bad boy goes on sale! I imagine these drawers would hold lots of paper and other scrapbooking supplies that require flat storage.
If you have ever participated in rubber stamping--some scrappers incorporate it while others make cards, etc. with stamps--and those stamps were of the wood block variety, you may have the issues I
used to have with storage. Something in the nature of these handled totes were wonderful for me! I placed my wood stamps in the plastic boxes they came in, placed them in the totes and VOILA! Instant organization AND the capability to store my stamps on a shelf in my bedroom closet. The particular model at the left is billed as a scrapbook tote on the Target.com site. Its more narrow than the handled totes I purchased for my stamps, but you get the idea. Those handled boxes that hold hanging file folders would also do the trick.
After all, who HASN'T purchased containers that didn't work for what they were purchased for or that have lived past their original useage? Why not look around and see what new ways you could use your old containers? Hubby's retired tackle boxes make great craft storage, don'tcha know!
Why not share your chosen storage methods in comments so we can learn from one another?!
I have a rolling cart, and then I have totes...lots and lots of totes. And a big black wire shelf...with lots and lots of shoebox sized rubbermaid tubs. And those cute little "drawer" inserts for cubes.
I just saw a cart at Target (for $39, ouch) that has several thin drawers as well as deep ones. The thin drawers are also divided...would be GREAT to have for scrapbooking. I just don't have the space.
